After graduating from the Art Institute in Pittsburgh in 2007 I opened JMA Designs, LLC dba IN TOWN TAILORING in Georgetown, Kentucky. I enjoyed serving Scott County but after a tragedy struck my family in 2014, I closed to the public and focused on my children while still helping existing clients. Now that my children are grown and I have relocated to London to be closer to my grandchildren, I feel it's time to reopen to the public and share my talent and passion.
My studio is located in my home, and currently, I have no employees. My customers are served on a By Appointment Only basis so every customer gets my complete attention.

Our services include the following:
For general alteration projects, my normal turnaround time is 2 weeks so anything that requires less time will incur a rush charge of 20% of the total of the project. With wedding and prom season starting the turnaround time may push to 3 weeks. Please book an appointment or text or call to discuss your sewing needs. Email me at intowntailoring@gmail.com or text or call me at 502-644-7221 with any questions and I will reply as soon as I receive it. You can schedule an appointment here directly and I will confirm your time and date.
I apologize in advance if you receive my voicemail, I have been receiving over 2 dozen spam calls a day and have stopped answering the phone if the area code is not local. If you have a non-southern KY area code, please text me if I do not answer. Otherwise, know I am not available and will return your call as soon as I get the message.
I will be closed from May 16th through June 1st, but you are welcome to email or text during this time. I will respond as quickly as possible.
Most projects are allotted 2 weeks from the day they enter the store to be completed. Rush jobs are possible, but will incur a rush charge to jump the line. Some projects may take longer than two weeks depending on the details of the project. I appreciate your understanding.
Classes have started and are currently 2 hours in my studio. Learn how to sew with these progressive classes that start with the basics of the craft, from which machine is the best bang for your buck to how to read a pattern and which fabrics are the most appropriate for your project. The first level will teach you how to read a pattern and you will create an elastic waistband skirt or pants. This level usually lasts two weeks or 4 hours. Each course after that will build on your new skills and help you gain confidence to create whatever your imagination desires. Classes are forming now. Click on the Sewing Class Descriptions to learn more or fill out the registration information with your class time preferences.
Reach out with an email, text or phone call to discuss class times that work for you.
